Strategies to Enhance the Integration of Health Services, Education, Research, and Community Engagement within the Nursing Center Model
In a recently published article, Neti Juniarti, S.Kp., M.Kes., M.Nurs., Ph.D., from Faculty of Nursing Universitas Padjadjaran collaborated with global partner Flinders University, Australia to highlight the innovative potential of the Nursing Center (NC) Model.
This model integrates community health services, education, research, and engagement, providing a client-centered and service-learning-oriented nursing curriculum. It revitalizes community health nursing through six stages of integration: preparation, orientation, working, pre-termination, termination, and adoption.
The implementation of these strategies is expected to enhance the quality of nursing graduates, improve health services, and strengthen community well-being. Furthermore, the authors recommend adopting the model within the Academic Health System (AHS) to maximize outcomes for all stakeholders.
This research contributes directly to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education) by emphasizing holistic nursing practice, and to SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through international collaboration.
