Exploring the Gaps in Elderly Health Services: Unpad Nursing Faculty Publishes a Scoping Review on Posbindu Utilization
As Indonesia faces a demographic shift toward an aging population, ensuring equitable access to community-based preventive health services becomes crucial. A newly published scoping review by researchers from the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Padjadjaran, led by Citra Windani Mambang Sari, dives deep into the factors influencing the utilization of Posbindu (Integrated Non-Communicable Disease Posts) among older adults in Indonesia.
Analyzing nine relevant studies, the paper reveals that only 47.51% of older adults engage in Posbindu activities, with reinforcing factors such as family and cadre support being the most significant predictors of participation (p < 0.03). Meanwhile, knowledge gaps, cultural beliefs, and accessibility barriers remain key challenges.
This research aligns with SDG 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, emphasizing the need for inclusive elderly healthcare strategies and community empowerment.
