Innovating Self-Management in Colorectal Cancer: Enhancing Quality of Life and Patient Outcomes
Colorectal cancer is one of the leading global malignancies, profoundly affecting patients’ physical and psychological well-being. Addressing this challenge, researchers from Poltekkes Kemenkes Jakarta I, led by Ratna Aryani, in collaboration with colleagues from Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Padjadjaran, and Madani College of Health Sciences, conducted a comprehensive scoping review on innovative approaches to self-management for colorectal cancer patients.
The study, titled “Exploring Innovative Approaches to Self-Management in Colorectal Cancer for Enhancing Quality of Life and Patient Outcomes, A Scoping Review”, led by Ratna Aryani et al., examined 11 recent scientific articles covering cutting-edge strategies such as personalized psycho-educational programs, digital technology applications, and structured counseling. The findings indicate these innovative approaches have great potential to improve patients’ quality of life and treatment outcomes.
This research advances nursing and oncology science and supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3, ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages. Empowering patients through effective self-management can accelerate recovery and reduce the burden of chronic illness.
