Bandung, February 2025 – The Faculty of Nursing at Padjadjaran University (Unpad) implemented a Community Service Program (KKN-PPM) themed “Health Education on Building Food Security” in Sukamulya Village, Rancaekek District. The program, which took place from January to February 2025, aimed to support the achievement of SDGs 2: Zero Hunger by educating residents about organic waste management, hydroponic cultivation, and vegetable seedling planting.
Through the SEHATI, BioCycle, Jaga Bibit, and BINCOME subprograms, residents were trained to make compost, utilize their yard space, and practice waste sorting. As a result, the community began adopting local food cultivation practices for healthy daily consumption, while simultaneously increasing household food self-sufficiency.
The team leader, Prof. Laili Rahayuwati, emphasized that this program is expected to become a model for sustainable community empowerment. “With local food security, we not only prevent stunting but also support the realization of healthy and prosperous families,” she said.
