Jatinangor, November 2024 – The Faculty of Nursing of Padjadjaran University conducted a social action program titled “GILANG: Nutrition and Local Food for Children’s Growth and Development and Psychosocial Well-being” at SDN 1 Cileles, Jatinangor District. The program was led by Indra Maulana, S.Kep., Ners., M.M., along with a team of lecturers and students.
The program lasted one month and included various activities, such as a balanced nutrition awareness campaign, mini-games, a coloring competition, and a communal meal with nutritious food. This initiative aimed to introduce healthy local food, raise awareness of the importance of nutrition for children’s growth and development, and encourage students to bring healthy food.
The results of the activity demonstrated an increase in students’ understanding of nutritious food. Participants enthusiastically participated in the outreach program, were able to draw healthy food effectively, and brought food according to the principles of “four healthy five perfect.”
“Children need to be accustomed to consuming nutritious food from an early age, not only for their current health but also to prepare them for quality human resources in the future,” said Indra Maulana, the program’s Chief Executive.
This social activity also reflects religious values, Pancasila, and citizenship, such as caring, mutual cooperation, and gratitude for locally available food. With an educational and fun approach, this activity is expected to support food security in the Jatinangor.
