Unpad Nursing and Partners Spotlight Self-Management as Key for Colorectal Cancer Survivors
The Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Padjadjaran, in collaboration with Universitas Indonesia and Madani Health College, has contributed to cutting-edge nursing research through a newly published scoping review. Led by Ratna Aryani, SKep., MKep (Poltekkes Kemenkes Jakarta I and PhD candidate at Universitas Indonesia), the study titled “Self-Management Support for Colorectal Cancer Survivors: A Scoping Review” was published in the Belitung Nursing Journal.
Analyzing 11 international studies, the research identifies various self-management strategies, such as digital self-monitoring, psychoeducational programs, and psychosocial support that significantly help survivors cope with long-term symptoms, reduce emotional distress, and regain quality of life. These approaches encourage autonomy and resilience, empowering survivors as active participants in their post-treatment journey.
This study contributes to the body of evidence-based oncology nursing practice while also supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 4: Quality Education.
