Researchers from the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Padjadjaran, Neni Rochmayati Satuhu, Neti Juniarti, S.Kp., M.Kes., MNurs., PhD., and Efri Widianti, S.Kep.,Ners.,M.Kep., Sp.Kep.Jiwa., conducted a quasi-experimental study to evaluate the effectiveness of family motivational interviewing (FMI) in empowering families to better motivate their loved ones with SMI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The study, published in 2025, involved 62 families registered at Babakan Sari Public Health Center, Indonesia. After a four-week FMI intervention, families showed significant improvement in their ability to encourage medication adherence and daily living activities in individuals with SMI compared to controls (p &lt; 0.01).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These findings highlight the critical role of community nursing and family-centered interventions in mental health care.
