Led by Universitas Padjadjaran, This Scoping Review Explores Factors Influencing Caregivers\u2019 Treatment-Seeking Behavior for Children with Cancer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Researchers from the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Padjadjaran, led by Ikeu Nurhidayah, S.Kep.,Ners.,M.Kep.,Sp.Kep.Anak., in collaboration with Universitas Indonesia, conducted a scoping review titled \u201cFactors Influencing Treatment-Seeking Behavior Among Caregivers of Children with Cancer,\u201d exploring why many children with cancer in developing countries are diagnosed late, and how this can change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Analyzing nine studies across the last decade, the review found that caregiver treatment-seeking behavior is shaped by a complex interplay of factors: child and parent characteristics, knowledge gaps, perceptions, access to care, and social support. These barriers contribute significantly to delays in diagnosis and treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The findings emphasize the need for stronger health promotion strategies, improved public awareness of early cancer signs in children, and expanded pediatric oncology networks in underserved regions. This work directly supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by advocating for equitable access to timely, life-saving treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
