A new study from Universitas Padjadjaran led by Sheizi Pristasari, S.Kep.,Ners.,M.Kep.Ph.D., in collaboration with international colleagues from Maastricht University, Medical University of Graz, and Universitas Riau reveals that while most family caregivers in Bandung have positive attitudes about preventing pressure injuries in their elderly relatives, many lack sufficient knowledge and practical skills to do so effectively.

Out of 267 caregivers surveyed, 61% had limited knowledge, and 41% showed inadequate preventive practices, even though 94% had a positive mindset about care. Importantly, the study found that better knowledge and attitudes were linked to improved caregiving actions.

This highlights the urgent need for education and professional support to empower families, helping to promote healthy aging and a better quality of life at home. This research supports SDG 3, ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages.
